The weather here in Benbecula turned from stunning balmy September sunshine to chilly mornings and distressingly cold evenings with lashings of rain which filled every article in the garden to overflowing. To cheer myself up, I made some candles in old containers that I had left over from past candle presents. I used to make candles in mould’s for the local craft shop, as well as dipping white ones into coloured wax. I wanted to do something different. So I did some research and discovered coconut wax. Then I became slightly obsessed and bought more containers and a huge 12 kg block of it.
